Hi, I'm Mel
I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master, and Registered Nurse. I have roots in the south and have called WA, CO, and now Iowa City home--each place offering gifts and lessons that add vibrant threads to the tapestry of my life and work.
I received my massage training at Carlson College of Massage Therapy in Anamosa, IA with a focus on integrative, therapeutic techniques rooted in respect for the body's natural wisdom. Trained in the Usui reiki tradition, I continue to be guided by mentorship, intuition, and curiosity. With a nursing background that includes caring for people navigating trauma, mental health crises, and systemic injustice, my approach is trauma-aware, consent-centered, and rooted in compassion.
Along with my work, I tend to my family, my pets, and my plants. I delight in vintage and handmade treasures, spiritual inquiry, and the natural world. I believe that when we allow ourselves to be deeply nurtured, the effects ripple outward--quietly strengthening the fabric of our lives, our relationships, and our collective healing.

Amazingly warm and cozy vibes! The decor is so happy and cute. One of the best playlists I've heard during a massage. And, hands down, the best neck work I've ever had. If you have any sort of chronic neck pain or migraine, highly recommend this as a focus of the session.
